Step 1 - Back Teeth

The first step is the placement of the titanium implant by Professor Ferguson to replace the lost tooth. This implant will remain unloaded at gum level for approximately 3- 4 months. During this time, the bone will heal and effectively form a bond with the implant.

If the procedure is done in two stages, which is now less common, the second step involves a very simple procedure to uncover the implant and attach a short post (abutment) to each implant. This completes the foundation on which the new tooth crown will be placed.

The final step is the placement of the new tooth crown by Doctor Judge. With techniques that ensure optimal size, shape, colour and fit, the new implant-supported tooth will be a good match with your remaining teeth.
