Step 1 - Lower Jaw

Step 1 - Upper Jaw

Upper Jaw

The first step is the placement of a suitable number of titanium implants to support the new dentition. Typically this may be four or five implants in the lower jaw and eight to ten implants in the upper jaw. These implants will remain unloaded at gum level for up to 6 months. During this time, the bone will form the bond to the implants.

The second stage of the treatment involves uncovering the implants and attaching a post (abutment) to each implant. This completes the foundation to which the new dentition will be attached. In some instances, Professor Ferguson may decide to place these abutments at the time of surgery.

The final step is the construction and fitting of your new dentition by Doctor Judge. With techniques that ensure optimal size, shape, colour and fit, your replacement teeth will be designed to blend with your facial characteristics while providing lip support needed for a natural appearance.
