Step 1 - Lower Jaw

Step 1 - Upper Jaw

Upper Jaw

The first stage is the placement of a suitable number of titanium implants to support the removable bridge (overdenture). Typically this may be two implants in the lower jaw and four to six implants in the upper jaw. These implants will remain unloaded at gum level for up to 6 months. During this time, the bone will form the bond to the implants.

The second stage of treatment involves connecting posts (abutments) to the implants, although sometimes this is also done at the time of the first stage of treatment.

The final stage is the attachment of permanent abutments to each implant, or sometimes a bar connecting the implants, followed by construction and insertion of the removable bridge. With techniques that ensure optimal size, shape, colour and fit, this removable restoration will be designed to complement your facial characteristics while providing the support needed for a natural appearance of the lips.
