Implant Prosthodontics

Oral Surgery

Following implant placement, and a healing period of three months for integration of the implant in the bone, an impression (a mould) is taken of the top of the implant and a special crown is made in the dental laboratory. When ready, the crown is sent to our office and then it is tried and fitted into the top of the implant.

The crown may be attached to the implant either with a special screw or could be cemented in the same way as conventional crowns. The crowns are usually made from metal-supported ceramic or, in areas of high aesthetic demand, such as an upper front tooth, could be fully ceramic.
